I'm not typically in this area but was having some work done on my vehicle and was starving! The mechanic recommended this place. I was a bit suspicious from the outside, but really in sub zero weather with 2 feet of snow what really looks appealing on the outside? Anyway the inside lacks ambience and charm. Not blaming the owner but he needs to add a few walls and some nice decor and this place would look good. On to the food...I ordered the T-Rex sandwich ($8.99 including fries and slaw) made up of pulled pork, roast turkey, dearborn ham, dry rub, sliced melted cheddar on a pretzel bun. I can honestly say this may have been the best sandwich I've ever eaten. It was so good, so flavorful and protein was so tender I couldn't put it down. I'm also a craft beer fan and they carry a variety of good craft beers. I'd like to see them carry a few more Michigan beers, but hopefully has business grows they can add a bring in more local selections. Prices were also very reasonable. $3.00 for a New Belgium Rampant Imperial IPA is a steal!!!! The staff was okay, I was there after lunch and really the only patron in the place. It was hard to gauge how well they'd do during busy hours. I would definitely recommend this place and I will return when in the area.

Don't waste your time! When here for dinner, the place was 3/4 full and it took 15 min to get waited on. Ordered when we got out drinks and it took 45 min to get our food. two burgers were not made as described on the menu, the slab of ribs were just ok. We asked for more BBQ sauce and were given Open Pit and Sweet Baby Rays, really? The waitress didn't check on us once in 45 min to ask if we needed more drinks or to apologize for the long wait for our food. Three other tables got up and left while we waited for our food.

Excellent BBQ. Ribs are fall off the bone delicious! Nice bar area with good beer specials. Family friendly. Clean restrooms and personal attentive. Homemade coleslaw and awesome seasoned steak fries no vegans allowed!! Will definitely be back for more. Roarrrrrrr!!

I decided to take my son here because of his love of dinosaurs, and my love of trying some place new. There were moving triceratops dinos, and even though he was terrified, he loved them. Onto the food. I had the Dino burger, and it was alright. It came with a side of coleslaw (really good), and steak fries (pretty good). They didn't serve Coke or Pepsi, instead it was Faygo. I'm cook with that, because I love creme soda. Overall, the foods was decent, the service was good, and the atmosphere pleasurable for my two year old (win!). We will return.

Best ribs in Downriver. Brought my parents from out of town and they said, "Best ribs I've had in a long time." Plus, the cook came out to make sure how we wanted our food. Can't ask for better food or service.

Highly recommend. Moved to area from Columbus, Ohio and was looking for a bbq place. Have been here several times and has always been good. Get the turkey and also sometimes the pulled pork. The pulled pork is my favorite. Bbq sauces are very good. Wish they had a few more side options and also menu options. But they have let me customize every time I've been there as I'm on a mostly protein and vegetable diet so don't want bread or other things. Should try. Reasonably priced good food.

Had delicious rib tips! Sadly this place has closed down permanently! :/ Good food I guess not a great location.

Came in today for lunch, and although it was fairly slow and the atmosphere left much to be desired, food was phenomenal. My boyfriend got the T-Rex (pulled pork, roast turkey, Dearborn ham, dry rub, sliced cheddar and slaw on a pretzel roll), and I got the Lava Burger (Cajun seasoning, Asiago cheese, bacon, and blue cheese dressing). I followed suit and asked for my burger to be on a pretzel roll. After ordering, we were informed that they wouldn't have turkey until about hour from that time, but no big deal, he could have extra ham or pulled pork-- PORK. Our food arrived in a totally reasonable amount of time (we murdered a Faygo float in the meantime), and was correct and DELICIOUS. Juicy burger, and his sandwich rivaled BBQ authority Slow's Triple Threat. This place has their food down, I just think they need to figure out the kinks involved in service and operating an actual restaurant.

I'm an avid BBQ fanatic and know good BBQ. This isn't it. My wife had a chicken sandwich, my daughter had a cheeseburger, and I had the ribs and brisket. My wife said the chicken was just ok. My daughters burger was supposed to be medium well & was pink in the middle. My bbq was mediocre at best. The brisket was dry and fatty - it was virtually impossible to chew and the ribs were eh. I've had better ribs from pizza joints. Our waitress was good and the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. I honestly don't see this place lasting for more than a year if they don't make some changes. My family and I won't be back & neither will other people we know who have eaten there. I honestly feel bad for people that think this is the best BBQ ever - there's something to say about a BBQ restaurant that doesn't even make their own sauce! They offer a wide selection of either open pit or sweet baby rays.

I would love to comment on the food, but after waiting for a snippy server for 15 minutes (just to get our drink order) and then another 10 minutes to order food followed by 35 minutes of just waiting with no check in I was done. My fiance and I walked in with high hopes after reading a few articles online. There was no dinosaur decor, just bar stools and a few tables. The menu had very limited bbq items that were dinosaur in theme but that was it for the dino theme. Our server didn't mention they had beer and failed to even greet us. There was a variety of servers but none exclusive to anyone, it was so confusing. I will never be back and I encourage others not to even try take out because there were others just waiting for their pickups even before we got there. The only times waitresses even paid attention to anyone was when it was time for payment. You're not going to get a tip like that from anyone, love.

Hey y'all! So glad to have a bar-b-q joint near the house. I know this place hasn't been open for long but I hope they're open for a long time comin' ! Pulled pork was "Outrageous!"-ly good followed by the best damn smoked turkey I've ever had! Stopped in on a Friday at around 1:30. Place was empty, I'll give ya that, but I didn't even know this place was here til last week! The server was nice and gave me a minute to look over the menu and by the time I was ready to order the OWNER was chatting me up. Sweet! He took my order and headed to the kitchen to get a head start, but not before serving up a complimentary rib kabob. My first but not my last. Awesomely tender! They batter and fry these things! Is that normal? It should be! It was a carry out order so I had a little wait ahead of me and the server offered up a drink while I waited. Sweet tea to die for! (ask for lemon) Also complimentary! Got the Mammoth combo with turkey and pulled pork. Delicious. The ribs were awesome though I still love bones at that "Famous" place the most. (hehe) Fries were perfectly seasoned and the slaw creamy and slightly peppered. Great! And saved me the time ;-) Now for the Mac and cheese. Added it to the order and was disappointed. It wasn't very creamy or cheesy enough for me. The flavor was low key and needed salt. But that's nothing new. I've yet to find a decent Mac and cheese within a half hour of the house. Clarkston Union!!! Can't wait to try the T-Rex sandwich on my next visit, which'll be VERY soon. oh, and homemade sauce, please? If I can buy it at the store, it don't go. B-B-Q for life!

What a disappointment. Starting with the service. The most unhappy unapproachable and irritated staff I have ever seen. One other table in the place and "Shane" acted like he wanted to be anywhere but there. What a jerk. The decor is ridiculous. Cheap, tacky and stupid. Don't even bother. Starting with drinks, there are no drink lists no beer lists no fatso menu nothing. Figure it out on your own. I ordered the half slab with slaw and fries. My husband the shrimp "pulled pork" combo. The so called pulled pork was actually chopped pieces of fatty pork off the end of the ribs. It was awful. The frozen shrimp where hardly jumbo. The ribs were so so. What really irritated me is if you went through all the trouble to open a restaurant why not make your own sauce??? So they serve sweet baby rays and open pit. Come on. It took forever to get our food and there were no other orders. My ribs were cold in the middle. I was really disappointed and thought it was really over priced for horrible service (bad attitudes, never smiled, said hello, etc) horrible decor and mediocre food. We won't be back and I'll be suprised if they are around in another month or two. There were no wet naps offered or available, no extra napkins, the air conditioning was on or the heat was broken..... Or the fake dinosaurs on the floor ate the HVAC unit. Typical Taylor form for a business like this. Take some cues from Bierkelleer.

Horrible! Showed up for lunch one day at 11:45. There was one other table with 2 people and also two parties of 2 were sitting at the bar. We were approached promptly with menus and the waitress took our drink order. By the time she came back with our drinks we were ready to order. My husband had a couple of questions about the menu, but the waitress seemed very timid & unsure. Nevertheless we placed our order with high hopes, as we had heard such great reviews of their food. As it turned out, one of the parties sitting at the bar (two gentlemen) had been waiting on a carry out order. However when the bags were placed in front of them, it was completely wrong. Nobody seemed to care much, and the waitress appeared to be very confused. About 15 minutes later, they finally got it resolved & were on their way. In the meantime, the one other table besides us had left and two more parties of two had arrived & sat in the dining area. The second couple who had been sitting at the bar received their food, and again, it was incorrect. The woman's sandwich was missing several ingredients. She was upset & was not at all quiet about her displeasure. About this time, a second waitress appeared who seemed much more experienced and sure of herself. She approached one of the other tables (who had arrived after us) to ask what they had ordered. She asked us if our order had been taken, but did not ask what we ordered. Several minutes later, the other table was served their food. Once again, there was a problem with the order. The woman asked specifically before ordering if they had vinaigrette dressing. When it came out, they gave her ranch dressing. It was only at that point that she was told they only had ranch & other creamy dressings. She replied, "had I known that I would not have ordered a salad!" We still had NO FOOD and had been there about 40 minutes. My husband wasn't happy that people who arrived after us had been served first, but he noticed there were two plates of food in the window. Assuming they were ours, he figured that we would be served momentarily. Wrong again! The two meals had been plated for dine in, but it was actually a carry out order for a woman who had been waiting at the end of the bar for at least 15 minutes. At this point, after having witnessed FOUR separate screw ups/incorrect orders in 45 minutes and our food being nowhere in sight, we angrily walked out. A man who had been sitting at the bar assembling take out boxes smiled at us on our way out.....clearly he didn't even realize how angry we were or that we hadn't been served. I can see this place going down in flames if they can't get their staff better trained and increase the flow of communication between waitstaff & kitchen. I would never wish harm upon a new business, but I also know they won't be there long if these issues continue. Hopefully I have provided some constructive criticism with this review. My husband put a review on their Facebook page and noted several other complaints of the same nature as ours. I sincerely hope they get the kinks worked out, but honestly we won't be returning to this restaurant. There are many other great places to spend our hard earned money. Updated to add: As noted, my husband left a negative review on their Facebook page. At least 4 other people had commented to his review with similar stories, but the owner or whomever handles his social media went in and DELETED all the negative comments left under my husband's review!

My first meal at this restaurant had ups and downs, more downs though. One of the ups is that the atmosphere of this place is very inviting and warm. We were not greeted when we first walked in and it was a seat yourself kind of establishment (which I personally like). When the waitress took our drink order she really didn't seem to know anything about the menu including the beverages. In fact she got my drink order wrong. There was no explanation of the specials or really anything on the menu from either the waitress or the menu itself. I could have been eating dinosaur meat and not even have known it. Also all the food on the menu was not available for order so that was another negative. My friend was dying to try the jalapeño corn bread. When the food finally arrived I got my food first and my friend was served several minutes after me which was a little akward. I got the Flintstone which had two "beef" patties, cheese, bacon and was missing the ranch that was supposed to come with it. My friend got the Collossus which was also missing the basic tomato, lettuce and onion component. The bbq chicken on the Collossus was very good. I was less than satisfied with my hamburger. There was no flavor and it was very greasy. A redeeming quality about the meal were the fries. They were delicious but you got very few with the meal. And since my hamburger didn't come with fries I thought since I had to buy them on the side I'd get a few more. The waitress seemed a little clueless to say the least. She seemed very frantic. Her co-worker that came in mid-meal seemed like she could have ran the whole place solo and been just fine. We were also presented with dirty silverware at the start of the meal which left a bad taste in my mouth. So all in all I would try this place again. They just opened and everyone deserves a second chance but I will stick to what they do best, bbq.

We stopped in for lunch and it is delicious! I had the bbq brisket sandwich. Homemade Mac and cheese. Baked beans and jalapeno corn bread. The owner is nice too. This establishment is a staple if you are a bbq fan.

Went for sunday lunch, only two other parties seated but it took a long time for our shy timid waitress to handle each "phase".....drink order, food order, refills, bill, etc. They were out of all of their kids meal "sides" so my son had to change his order 3 xs. My food was mediocre. The only positive was the Rib kabobs. I have chosen to order them carryout going forward and avoid eating in.

I had heard good things so we stopped by with a group after church. There were two other large groups there so we didn't expect fast service, l didn't expect the mess we had. She screwed up the drinks, acknowledged it, then didn't correct it until the third prompt. Since she had an extra orange pop she offered it to my toddler (apparently Faygo comes with a kids meal, didn't know that since they never gave us kids menus); she asked me first, then handed the three year old the glass bottle. Finally got a cup for us to pour it into for him to drink. Someone else took our order (owner?) so the waitress had no clue what went to who; made more difficult by the face that our food came out in three groups separated by 5 minutes each (only one person in the kitchen). They screwed up the ticket and were one sandwich short, so I had to wait while they reordered my food. We had to ask for silverware, and instead of bringing enough for the whole table, she brought it out just for the people who had their food; when the second round of food came out we had to ask for more. We also only got a single condiment caddy for 14 people. All of our checks were wrong and had to be redone. The food was good and there was plenty of it, but I was surprised the sauce options were open pit and sweet baby rays; I expected they would have their own sauce, or at least something I can't buy at Kroger. Based on the food and feedback from friends I may give it another try, but I've also heard that since they apparently lost their liquor license the service went down hill.

Still in shakedown mode. Had a rookie waitress and we all learned together. I had ribs & 2 meat combo. Ribs may have been best I have ever had. Fall off the bone like Chicken Shack but with a hard char to give it a crispy Umami. Pulled pork was nice but needs a little more flavor. Brisket was the strangest as it was not sweated (cooked low & slow) for long enough. Several slices, reheated on broiler made what is usually melt in your mouth experience to a "snappy" little bite. BBQ beans need another recipe. Too close to the can. more chop q and simmering. They were out of Mac n Cheese and cornbread so I can't comment. It was first week open and I will give a couple more tries. (Best ribs ever?).

I absolutely love this place! It's a really cool and unique restaurant with amazing food and BBQ. I'm not even that big on meat but I've loved everything I've gotten from here and wanted more! I recommend everything from the salads to the sandwiches. The staff are super nice and on top of things. It's a relatively new business and it just gets better everytime! I highly recommend this place, I've been here 3 times and I'll be coming even more! There's also adorable dinosaur decor and two triceratops to sit on for a photo op . RAWR

Some of the best barbecue I have had. They're relatively new and have some "tweaking" to do but it doesn't stop us from going there. The food is spot on! Can't say enough good!
